Behavior vs. Choice

So, while surfing through the internet I saw that Ron Wood of The Rolling Stones had done run off with a 18 year old Russian waitress. This made me laugh, but probably not for the reasons you think. All that I read about it ridiculed Mr. Wood... it is this that I find funny. Because, while Mr.Wood does seem like a sleazy dufus to me, I have to defend him... however, in the same way I would defend a dog that bit a child who was pulling on its tail.

In Evolutionary Terms, the only power men have is in their ability to survive, and the only power women have is who they choose to mate with. Out in nature we can find male birds that do an elaborate dance to win the privilege to mate with the only female; the men dance and the female picks the best one and there you have it. Or, rangeland moose will live in a group and the men will fight over who gets to mate with the females that have come to be with them. My point is that women's power is choice and men's power is behavior. Thus, the fundamental battle between men and women throughout our human history is men trying to control who women mate with, and women trying to control men's behavior.

In a free society where men and women are equal a man will live his life and do what he needs to survive and attract the mate he is interested in, then a women will choose to make herself available to the man because he fits her list of requirements, and if the man is lucky enough to have more than one women after his butt, he then must choose which one best fits his criteria. For the society to be free, men must accept the choice of women and women must allow the behaviors of men. That is to say, if a women is stupid enough to make money her main and/or only criteria for choosing the man she will make herself available to (and, at this point, I honestly don't know how Ron Wood could elicit any other attraction), then she should not cry when her rich husband turns out to be unfaithful. If a woman is looking for a faithful man, they should put fidelity higher on their list.

Unfortunately, our society has got things so screwed up in the last few thousand years with men playing all sorts of games trying to control women's choices and women doing all sorts of crap trying to control men's behavior, that we tend to get into relationships for the wrong reasons and then average person goes through a midlife crises - where the men try to regain control over their behavior and the women try to regain control of their choices.

Well, that is the crazy bald guy perspective at least.... Have a nice day. C:)
